Spell: Ritual Chalk

Color of the Day
Incense of the Day

If you’re like me, symbols and sigils play a large role in your practice. This all-purpose homemade chalk can be imbued with energy to enhance your magickal workings, then used to draw symbols on your tools, walls, or floors, or outdoors during spells. It can also be tweaked according to intent by changing up the herbs. The herbs suggested here create a protective chalk.

Gather these materials:
* Silicone molds like those used for baking (any shape is fine) or an ice cube tray
* Wax paper
* A small mixing bowl
* 1 cup plaster of Paris
* ½ cup warm water
* 1 teaspoon powdered rosemary, frankincense, or mayapple (a nonpoisonous substitute for mandrake root)

Line the molds (or the tray) with wax paper.

In the bowl, mix together the plaster of Paris, warm water, and herbs. As you stir the mixture clockwise, visualize purple and white light being mixed in with it. These are the colors of spiritual energy and magickal power.

Pour the mixture into the molds and let sit for 24 hours. When they’re dry, release them from the molds and get creative!
