Spell: A Prosperous Harvest

Color of the Day
Incense of the Day

Food is the oldest form of wealth. Storing it for winter offers survival through a bleak season. The gold of grain came long before the gold of coins. Also, grain's ability to sprout when planted echoes gold's ability to grow through investment. So the oldest prosperity spells are also spells for a bountiful harvest.

For this spell, you need a square of green cloth, a handful of golden grain (such as corn or wheat), a gold-colored coin, and a foot or so of green yarn. First, place the handful of golden grain on the green cloth and say:

May the harvest prosper.

Next, place the gold-colored coin on top of the golden grain and say:

May prosperity be harvested.

Gather up the points of the green cloth and twist them together. Tie the green yarn around the twisted points to secure everything. Store the bundle on your altar or another sacred space. The spell lasts for one year, harvest to harvest.
