The sign of Virgo has to do with the process of cleansing and purification. By cleansing our physical body and the energy sheath around it, we can help ourselves become more effective in our magical workings. To prepare for this, purchase some fragrant soap, a candle, and a smudge bundle (sage or cedar are both great for this). Begin by taking a bath or a shower using the fragrant soap; you will want to have a pleasant scent afterward. Then put on some fresh clothes and come to your altar. Light a candle and take your smudge bundle and burn some of it. Blow on the smudge and move it along the length of your body from head to toe. Ask that your spirit and body be blessed and purified. Then bring your smudge to your belly and visualize golden yellow light invigorating this area. Then move the smudge to your heart and visualize an emerald forest emanating from your heart. Then bring the smudge to between your brow (third eye), and visualize a violet light emanating fr0m there. Continue this process for a minute in each center and then give thanks.
