Color of the day: Silver
Incense of the day: Maple In the Roman Catholic tradition, this is the feast day of St. Francis of Assisi, the most nature-oriented of all the saints. The patron saint of animals, he is often pictured surrounded by various birds and beasts. He was said to have preached a sermon to birds. In the prayers he speaks of Brother Sun, Sister Moon, and Mother Earth. He is best known for these words: Lord, make me an instrument of your peace. Where there is hatred, let me sow love; where there is injury, pardon; where there is doubt, faith; where there is despair, hope; where there is darkness, light; and where there is sadness, joy. |
