Spell: Sure-Footing Spell

Color of the Day
Incense of the Day

Color of the day: Gray
Incense of the day: Gardenia

Toward the end of winter, there is ice everywhere, as snow falls and melts and refreezes. This spell helps you get a grip on things. Goats are famous for their sure footing; they jump around on mountains and never seem to fall. So begin by finding a goat symbol-a picture, small statuette, piece of goat horn or hair, whatever works for you. Place the symbol on your altar, and light a brown candle. Then invoke Pan:

Goat-footed god,
Lend me your balance
And your certainty.
Let me dance through my days
As gracefully as you dance
Down the mountain paths.
Keep my feet light
And my step sure.
So mote it be!

Let the candle burn itself out. Keep the goat symbol and any remaining candle wax on your altar until the last ice of winter is gone for good.
