Color of the Day
Incense of the Day

Color of the day: Lavender
Incense of the day: Lilac

Yemaya is the Yoruban angelic spirit that resides in the ocean. She embodies, love, nurturing, and mothering. Monday is her day; seven is her number. Her stone is moonstone; sea kelp, peppermint, eucalyptus, and passionflowers are her ewe (herbs). To honor her, boil water in a teakettle. Put one teaspoon of peppermint and passionflower ewe in a strainer or a muslin bag. Run a bath. Add 1/8 cup of ground sea kelp and 1/2 teaspoon of eucalyptus essential oil. Add a moonstone. Fix a cup of tea, and place it near the bathtub. Light a blue and a white candle. Get in the tub. Go under the water, hold your breath as long as you can, and contemplate the divine generosity and caring spirit of Yemaya. As you hold your breathing, feel the very fragility of your life force. When you can no longer hold your breath, come up for air. Repeat this act seven times. Place the moonstone on your belly. Then recite: "Praise be to Yemaya, sustainer of life." Relax and enjoy your tea.
