Color of the day: Gray
Incense of the day: Basil

One way to cure the winter blues is to make an inner child altar. In the center of your altar, place a framed photo of yourself as a child. Write on a piece of paper, "I nurture the child within me," and place it in front of your photo. Decorate the altar with childhood toys or your favorite objects and use your favorite colors for cloth and candles. Light your candle and quiet your mind. As you sit before your altar, check in with your inner child. Does he or she feel listened to and heeded? Many of us in our everyday life are too busy working and doing chores to take the time to be kind to ourselves. Ask yourself what you could do on a weekly basis that would take care of your inner child. It could be anything from a long bubble bath, a neighborhood game of basketball, or a painting class. Whatever you decide, make sure it's fun.
