Spell: An Earth Goddess Spell

Color of the Day
Incense of the Day

9-14-09
Color of the day: Silver
Incense of the day: Rosemary

For centuries, agricultural goddesses were honored at this time of year. They controlled the changing seasons and the cycles of death and rebirth. This is a spell of transformation and should be started now, as we enter the dark season. Before frost touches the ground, fill a small flowerpot with rich topsoil or potting mix. Charge the soil with life force by leaving it in the Sun for a day. Bring it indoors or leave in a potting shed over winter. Place a goddess symbol, such as a corn dollie, beside the pot. Touch the soil occasionally as you think of what it is you wish to change in your life. When the time feels right early next spring, start your favorite herb or flower seeds in the pot, then transplant into the garden. As the plants grow, your wish will be fulfilled.
