Kids love things in their pockets. Black river rocks with some protection oil and a symbol or picture painted on them can be carried in their pockets or purse. Have the child/ren work on it with you! Ask them if they have something they would like to paint on the stone. You will be surprised at what they come up with. A picture on the stone is just as good as a symbol. Help them work on it in a way that speaks to them. It will never be a secret stone, and you should always treat anything a child is going to have with openness. If you teach them to treat the stone with respect, and not to treat it as the only means of protection, then it can help them feel safer at night, when away from home, or when the boogie man is at his worst. |
