Every magic user needs a journal. It's a great place to jot down ideas, describe spells, track divination, and more.
I strongly suggest you choose a hard-copy journal. Yes, computers are great, but we know that writing captured by hand is remembered better and also tends to generate more creative ideas and responses. Give it a try! Create a front page for your journal, if you wish, perhaps listing your name and the text's purpose. Cut a piece of string or ribbon, preferably black. Use the string to do a four-way tie around the journal, package-style, tying it shut so it cannot be opened idly. Fasten with a square knot and, if you wish, with a bow. This simple mechanical barrier will help protect the journal from snoopers. Hold the journal close and repeat: "Bless my words in sacred space, here within this treasured place." Charge the journal on your altar for a day, then tuck it away in a secure location. |
