From Lughnasadh at the beginning of the month, we have reached harvest time. Not all of us have gardens or seasonal crops that are dependent upon our ability to harvest the food they create. However, we can usually find something to harvest in a spot out in nature, even if only a public park. Go to an area with plants and grass and find something to harvest. It could be something as simple as a clover and should not be anything that would be illegal to take. Whatever you are able to harvest, take it home and let it dry, perhaps pressing it in a book. Keep it for the rest of the year as a symbol of the great cycle of growth and decline and as a charm against famine. |
