Incense of the day: Bayberry This date marks the ancient Roman festival of Larentalia to honor the Lares, who were the esteemed guardians and protectors of families. With this in mind, it is a good time to renew the protections upon your residence. Choose four quartz crystals. Dedicate one to each of the directional/elemental guardians. Place each crystal in a window or over a doorway facing its dedicated direction. As you place the crystal, chant: Keepers of the [direction] gate, I invoke you to keep watch over my home. Grant me and mine your protections, keep out negative influences and unwanted energies. Hail and welcome. Once all four crystals are in place, return to the center point of your home and see clearly a ring of white light going from one crystal to the next, protecting your dwelling within: By the powers of the guardians, my home is safe, my family secure.
