Today is Boxing Day. In the United Kingdom, it is traditionally the day when people box their gifts before heading home from holiday travels. Others hold the day as a time to give gifts and money to the needy or those in service professions.
When celebrating the winter holidays at large family gatherings, the holidays can start to feel more like work than celebration. Dedicate today as a needed gift of rest for yourself (and your significant other if you have one). If you can't take a whole day to yourself, find an hour to set aside. Light a candle of a healing color (purple and green are good choices). Visualize healing light from the candle surrounding you and rejuvenating the energy within your body and spirit. As the candle burns, engage in a relaxing, enjoyable activity, such as reading, listening to music, knitting, or engaging in conversation with your significant other. |
