Spell: Sing a Song

Color of the Day
Incense of the Day

Today is sacred to the Finnish sky and air goddess Ilmatar, mother of Väinämöinen, who is said in the Kalevala to be the god of songs and poetry. People of all faiths love their songs and chants. As we sing, we send our energy through the air and into the ears of other people. It's good to send music into the atmosphere.
Make a list of your favorite songs and chants. Start with songs from your childhood-nursery rhymes, play songs, hymns, even Christmas carols. Add the songs you learned in school, songs you sang as you played your air guitar, songs you sang along with at concerts. Add your favorite chants. Where do these songs and chants take you? On days when you're feeling down, sing a song. Sing it loud and strong and sing it into your heart and out into the world. Let musical energy enliven the world.
