Spell: Find a Feather

Color of the Day
Incense of the Day

The symbolism of nature directly connects to the conscious mind. If you need a bit of energetic renewal today, try seeking out a feather. Feathers represent the element of air, whose qualities include clearing, cleansing, and beginning anew. Set some time aside to go on a nature walk. Find a feather that calls your name. Once you've gotten home, place the feather on your altar and imagine it glowing in soft yellows and whites. Contemplate the bird from which the feather came, and bring to mind its symbolism of freedom and flight.
Slowly brush the feather up your body, toe to head, then back down your body from head to toe. Burn some natural incense, and waft its smoke around your body. Say aloud:

"Free as a bird, this message is heard: I cleanse my life of pain and strife."

Conclude the ritual by burying the feather outside and giving thanks.
