Whether or not you celebrated Thanksgiving a couple of days ago, today is an excellent day for a detoxifying cleanse. In addition to balancing out any past food-related extravagances, we can also do this with the intention to help us make balanced and healthy choices in the famously decadent month ahead.
As soon as you wake up, light a white candle anointed with essential oil of peppermint. Center yourself and take some deep, cleansing breaths, bringing fresh, invigorating white light into your entire body and your every cell. Throughout the day, drink at least half your body weight in ounces of pure water. Abstain from all sweeteners, refined flours (whole grains are fine), dairy products, alcohol, and coffee (tea is fine). Also go light on the fruit juice, although have as much whole fruit and vegetable juice as you like. And, of course, go big on the vegetables, herbs, spices, beans, and nuts. |
