Spell: Garden Rune Spell

Color of the Day
Incense of the Day

Find several flat stones, preferably from your own yard or neighborhood. Wash them with soap and water, then cleanse them with salted water and the incense of your choice (such as sandalwood or myrrh).

When your stones are clean physically and magickally, paint (or draw with a marker) your favorite runes (or other magickal symbols) on them. We like to do the painting on our house altar for an extra added bit of energy. Choose runes that are associated with fertility, such as Fehu, Uruz, Wunjo, or Jera, and add a protective rune or two, such as Thurisaz or Eihwaz, to keep the squirrels from eating your tomatoes!

When the paint is dry, bury the runes in your garden (or pot, if you have a container gardener). Their energy will act as a magickal fertilizer, adding a little extra zing (and protection) to your garden. You can bury your runes during any moon phase, but full and waxing moons provide the best results.
