When Witches think about “drawing,” we often think of invocation, such as Wicca’s poetic “Drawing Down the Moon” written by Doreen Valiente. For this spell, we will actually be drawing with pencils, pens, markers, paints, or whatever suits your fancy. Winter is renowned to be a time when faeries and Upper World spirits interact with those on the mortal plane. Go outside to a place where you can sit comfortably. Make an offering to the fae, such as cookies, milk, honey, or anything sweet. Ask the wintertime faeries to surround you with their abundance and joy, and tell them you’d like to sketch their image. Smile and ask politely! Take time drawing one or more images of whatever comes to mind. You will likely find yourself entering a trancelike state while doing so. Place these images on your wintertime altar or keep them in a sacred space so their magick can be preserved. |
