Spell: Full Moon Samhain Herb Bundle

Color of the Day
Incense of the Day

It is the last full moon before Samhain. The veil is thin and we are able to feel the presence of our beloved dead more than ever. Tonight would be perfect for charging a bundle of herbs dedicated to communicating with the ancestors.

The following herbs have associations with protection, divination, and the sacred dead: apple leaves, cinnamon, mugwort, eucalyptus, bay laurel, willow, rosemary, mullein, lavender, clove, and marigold. Gather what you can find (fresh or dried is fine) and wrap them with twine. If you are only able to find your herbs in chopped or powdered form, you can make an herbal pouch instead. Place the bundle or pouch under the full moon and recite the following chant:
Under the moon I charge these herbs and open the door of Samhain.
I call to my beloved dead and sacred spiritual kin. You are welcome to this place of remembrance and communication, But only those who come with love and trust may join herein.

Sit with your herbs for a moment before you leave them under the moon for the night and allow them to do their work. In the morning, place your herbs on your altar, in a doorway, or in any spot you feel is appropriate for welcoming in your beloved dead.
