August 30 is International Day of the Victims of Enforced Disappearances, including those imprisoned in inhumane conditions, those who have been murdered for their beliefs, and/or victims of trafficking. For this spell, gather these supplies:
Place the candles behind Medusa, with the dish and the strips of paper in front. Light the candles, saying: Black for banishment, red for blood, green for justice. Meditate on victims of enforced disappearances, the loss of those lives, and the loss to family, friends, and the community. Light the first strip of paper in the black candle, saying: May the abusers be banished. Drop it in the dish. Light the second strip in the red candle, saying: May the blood shed by the disappeared ignite the fires of action in the world toward justice. Drop it in the dish. Light the third strip in the green candle, saying: May Medusa's ferocity bring healing. Drop it in the dish. Let the candles burn down safely. |
