Today is Memorial Day here in the United States, a day when we honor our nation’s fallen warriors. It is a time to reflect not only on their lives and bravery but also on the cost of war and its heavy toll. Not all fallen soldiers have family or loved ones to remember them. As we celebrate the lives of those who fought to protect our country, let us also remember those whom others have forgotten. All you need is a white candle, a small bell, and a few moments of your time. At your altar, safely light the candle and ring the bell three times before saying: Three times I ring this bell for the forgotten soldier, who fell in battle and was denied the chance to grow older. May they rest in peace and find their way; the heaviest price was theirs to pay. Extinguish the candle or allow it to safely burn out completely. |
