Today is Labor Day in the United States and Canada, a day to honor workers and all the good that has been gained from labor movements and trade unions. Today, dedicate some time to remember and honor the hardworking people who have fought to achieve these accomplishments and also some time for rest and relaxation. Even if you must work today, you owe it to yourself to set aside even a few quiet moments for this simple bit of celebration.

Find a quiet place where you can have a few moments to yourself. Contemplate those who came before you, the efforts you are making in the present day, and your hopes for future generations. Then recite a blessing such as the following:

A blessing on those who

work for fair labor.

To look out for each other is

only being a good neighbor.

May we rest and rejuvenate so as

to do our work in good favor.
